--Memory of the 2017 trip to Jiangsu Changshu National Agricultural Science and Technology Park & Jiangsu Chang Aluminum Aluminum Enterprise
On May 20, 2017, the Jiangnan water town in the early morning was filled with the warm summer sunshine. In order to enhance the practical management learning of MBAs and promote exchanges and cooperation with enterprises, the MBA class of Southwest University went to Changshu National Agricultural Science and Technology Park this morning. In the afternoon, I visited Jiangsu Changlu Aluminum Co., Ltd. to gain an in-depth understanding of the company's excellent corporate culture and advanced management concepts, and to provide a practical platform for students to study the course.
The students gathered at the National Agricultural Science and Technology Park in Changshu, Jiangsu at 9:30 in the morning. First, under the guidance and explanation of Teacher Zhou, they had a preliminary visit to the internal exhibition hall of the Changshu Agricultural Science and Technology Park. Jiangsu Changshu National Agricultural Science and Technology Park is one of the first 21 national agricultural science and technology parks in the country determined to be piloted by six departments: the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Ministry of Agriculture, the Ministry of Water Resources, the State Forestry Administration, the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and the Agricultural Bank of China. The park has formed an overall industrial pattern of "one core, three belts and multiple parks", with a total planned area of 65,000 acres in the core area, 340,000 acres in the demonstration area, and 633,000 acres in the radiation area. The park has clarified that by the end of the "Twelfth Five-Year Plan" period, the added value of agriculture will reach 4 billion yuan, high-efficiency facility agriculture will exceed 20%, high-standard farmland area will reach 70%, the comprehensive agricultural mechanization level will exceed 90%, and the contribution rate of agricultural science and technology progress will reach 75%. It will build a national agricultural science and technology demonstration park that fully represents the level of the economically developed regions in the Yangtze River Delta.


After visiting the exhibition area, walk into the greenhouse area to gain an in-depth understanding of the growth environment of agricultural products under new technologies and the historical changes of new agriculture. On the one hand, the students learned about the development of modern agriculture, and on the other hand, they experienced the fun of picking, relaxed their body and mind, and had fun and education. In recent years, Changshu has deeply implemented the strategy of promoting agriculture through science and technology, vigorously improved the level of agricultural modernization, accelerated the strategic adjustment of rural economic structure, and promoted the transformation of agricultural growth from factor expansion to technology-driven growth. Vigorously explore new mechanisms for agricultural science and technology parks, focus on building a new system of agricultural science and technology innovation, and strive to create new results for science and technology to benefit farmers and enrich farmers. The cumulative investment exceeds 3.6 billion yuan, forming a development pattern of "one center, two parks, and multiple bases". It has successively undertaken 24 national agricultural science and technology projects, 130 provincial agricultural science and technology projects, and 65 Suzhou municipal agricultural science and technology projects. The city's agricultural added value has grown at an average annual rate of 16.6%, achieving a total output value of 3.37 billion yuan in 2011.


After visiting Changshu National Agricultural Park and a simple lunch, the students went to Jiangsu Chang Aluminum Co., Ltd. Jiangsu Chang Aluminum Co., Ltd. is a joint-stock company established and controlled by Changshu Aluminum Foil Factory. It is a domestic professional aluminum producer. An aluminum processing enterprise that specializes in foil, hydrophilic coated aluminum foil and aluminum plates and strips, it is a key high-tech enterprise in the National Torch Plan, one of the top ten aluminum foil enterprises in China, one of the first 22 key private technology enterprises in Jiangsu Province, and one of the 100 enterprises to be cultivated and developed during the "Eleventh Five-Year Plan" period in Jiangsu Province. The company has aluminum processing and deep processing production facilities including aluminum ingot casting, hot rolling (including continuous casting and rolling), rough and finishing rolling, finishing, heat treatment, coating and shearing. In September 2006, the "Global" brand aluminum foil produced by the company was rated as the first batch of "Chinese Famous Brand" products in the aluminum foil category; in January 2006, the company obtained the AAA product quality certificate issued by the China Product Quality Association; and was recognized as the "Gold Cup Award for Physical Quality of Nonferrous Metal Products" by the China Nonferrous Metals Industry Association. The products are exported to more than 10 countries or regions including Japan, South Korea, Southeast Asia, the United States, Turkey, and Spain.
First, Mr. Zhang Quancheng, vice president of Chang Aluminum, corporate doctoral supervisor at Shanghai Jiao Tong University, and former researcher at the Shanghai Institute of Materials, gave a wonderful sharing to the students. The PPT was launched, covering a series of topics such as team building, quality control management, warehouse management, etc. on how to better and more efficiently manage the enterprise, how to implement internal management, achieve upstream and downstream operations, etc... He shared and explained very clear ideas, and patiently answered the answers to relevant questions from several students in the MBA class. After the management sharing, Mr. Zhou from Southwest University presented Mr. Zhang with a calligraphy and painting scroll on behalf of the School of Economics and Management to express his gratitude.



Next, under the personal leadership of Mr. Zhang, everyone walked into the product showroom to learn about the manufacturing and performance of aluminum foil, aluminum materials, aluminum plates, aluminum strips and other related products, as well as the company's honors. Next, we walked into the first logistics smart warehouse put into use by Chang Aluminum. Under Mr. Zhang’s introduction, we learned that the warehouse investment was nearly 300 yuan, which was reduced from the original 20 people to 2 people and a forklift. Intelligent operation not only reduces manpower and improves efficiency, but also can recover the cost in almost two years. This study is not only about the integration of knowledge and practice, combining theory and practice, but also about opening up ideas through symposium discussions, sparking collisions, and sharing and summarizing to gain knowledge.
