01 / ABOUT THE INSTITUTE
Connecting education and research with local needs through university–local partnerships.
Established through collaboration between Southwest University and the Changshu Municipal Government, the institute brings together technology R&D, technology transfer, technical services, talent development and startup incubation. It connects the university’s academic strengths with industry needs in the Yangtze River Delta.
December: the institute’s collaboration platform was formally registered in Changshu National Agricultural Science and Technology Park.
January: Southwest University and the Changshu Municipal Government signed a university–local cooperation agreement.

Discover the culture and everyday life of Jiangnan through its streets, neighbourhoods and cultural spaces.
The proposed programme combines urban observation, cultural visits and themed journals, helping participants turn their experiences into personal learning outcomes.
Focus: cultural interests and urban observation. Locations, age requirements, dates and fees are to be announced.
Explore how scientific questions lead to industrial applications and how knowledge becomes real-world solutions.
The proposed programme links classroom knowledge with industry applications through science-themed learning, industry case discussions and reflective records.
Focus: scientific interests and early career awareness. Host organisations, visit arrangements and course content are to be confirmed.
Discover how learning works at university and explore personal interests and future directions through shared experiences.
The proposed programme helps participants create their own exploration plan through sessions on university learning, introductions to academic disciplines and personal development workshops.
Focus: understanding academic disciplines and planning personal growth. Venue, instructors, age requirements and schedule are to be confirmed.
These study journey themes are in development and are not open for registration. Final itineraries, instructors, dates and fees will be announced by the institute.
